Castlevania Season Three is Officially Greenlit

castlevania season 3

The stars have once again aligned for Castlevania producer Adi Shankar and the rest of the creative team behind the increasingly successful Netflix series. Just released this past Friday on October 26, 2018, the second season literally doubled the scale of its debut. Now, on Halloween of course, Shankar has announced the third season (which has been alluded to being in production in some form already) has been officially greenlit as of today.

The Castlevania series, which is produced by Shankar, written by renowned comics author Warren Ellis, animated by Federator Studios and co-directed by Sam Deats and Ryoichi Uchikoshi, has been a hit with fans, and has brought a ton of attention back to the series. Konami has done the same, with incorporating elements from Castlevania into Super Bomberman R, bringing content into the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and of course launching the Castlevania Requiem collection on the same day as the series’ season two premiere.

Based on Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, the series follows Trevor Belmont, Alucard, and Sypha Belnades as they work together to save the world from the demonic hordes of Dracula, who is enacting his revenge on humanity after his wife was burned at the stake for witchcraft.

Chronus Arc Explores PlayStation Starting Today

chronus arc released

Kemco‘s massive library of multiplatform, old school JRPG goodness continues today with the official launch of Chronus Arc. Developed by Hit-Point, Chronus Arc is a classic-inspired adventure with a marked focus on dungeon puzzles, and an open-ended class system that lets you power up your characters to your heart’s content.

Here is the official description and key features for Chronus Arc, per a press release from Kemco:

  • Story – Loka is a young boy who is training to become a Sorcerer Knight. He is heading off to get the Chronus Fragments, which are needed for the ceremony of ‘Time Rewinding’, in which the current world is overwritten by the past. However, the sudden appearance of a mysterious man intent on stealing the Fragments changes all this, and Loka finds himself on a quest with his childhood friend, Princess Sarna. Their quest is a fight for the Chronus Energy, which has the power to unify time…
  • Dungeons with Puzzles to Solve – The puzzles in dungeons are one of the major features of the game. The puzzles include switches, boxes, pots and other features, and it’s necessary to solve the puzzles before you can progress! Sometimes you might even need to make use of the enemies prowling around! Even if you fail to solve a puzzle, you can reset it with just a button press, so it’s easy to try as many times as you want to.
  • Class Changes – Characters become stronger with each class change, so it’s a good idea to change regularly! Even after a class change, any learned magic and skills will not be forgotten. Change classes as you want, to develop characters that are uniquely your own!

Chronus Arc is available now on the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita for $14.99. However, the game is on sale for 10% off for the first two weeks, and it supports Cross Buy, meaning buying either version entitles you to the other.

Triss Merigold Cast Announcement for The Witcher TV Series

Triss Merigold Cast Announcement

Oh lordy, today is shaping up to be a special treat for fans of The Witcher series. We were very recently treated to a look at Henry Cavill as Geralt, but coming hot off that reveal is the casting announcement for Triss Merigold, who will be played by Anna Shaffer. Triss is an advanced sorceress within The Witcher universe that has had romantic entanglements with Geralt throughout the story within the games. If you’re unfamiliar with Shaffer, she was that silly student that kept trying to feed Harry some love potion in The Half-Blood Prince, and went on the make appearances in both The Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2.

No image of Shaffer in costume as Triss has not been revealed just yet, but it’s safe to assume we may be seeing more characters in their respective outfits as production continues with the show. Shaffer will be starring alongside Freya Allan as Ciri and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Venderberg.

Lauren S. Hissrich is the creator for The Witcher TV series. She was also one of the writers involved with Netflix’s Marvel series Daredevil and The Defenders. Whether an excess of hallways will prove to be Geralt’s advantage in his ongoing fight to the world of dangerous beasts remains to be seen.

How are we feeling about this casting choice for Triss? Let us know what you think in the comments!
