aris Hilton a Valentine's Day "Hottie"

The Paris Hilton vehicle "The Hottie and the Nottie" will hit theaters just in time for Valentine's Day.

Indie distributor Regent Releasing has picked up all North American rights to Tom Putnam's romantic comedy and set a February 8 release in ten major markets around the country.

The heiress and former inmate plays Cristabel Abbott, who's been eyed since the first grade by an obsessed Nate Cooper (Joel David Moore). To win her affections, Nate is forced to find a boyfriend for her less-than-beautiful friend June Phigg (Christine Lakin).

Hilton previously starred in the 2005 horror remake "House of Wax," although audiences reportedly cheered when her character was killed.

Paris Hilton Avoids Injury in Car Accident

Paris Hilton narrowly escaped injury on Saturday when a photographer's car sideswiped her Cadillac Escalade as she was exiting the vehicle.

The Simple Life star's chauffeur had parked behind Beverly Hills boutique Kitson when an over-enthusiastic paparazzo pulled up to take some pictures--and accidentally left his Mercedes-Benz in reverse.

Nobody was hurt in the incident, although a minder sitting in the front passenger seat of the socialite's car complained of neck pain, and Hilton and the photographer exchanged phone numbers for insurance purposes.

Hilton's driver tells Web site TMZ.com, "The car is backing up into me, in reverse, as my client is getting out of the car.

"Basically it was either me risking hurting my client (by moving the vehicle)--which I wasn't willing to do, of course--or taking the hit. So we took the hit."

"Don't read the tabloids. Don't be obsessed with what people are writing or saying. Live your life for you.

According to the reports the 'Mean Girls' star will have to stick to the contract, which means she will have to be at the LAX nightclub's party on the night.

The actress also still owes the management group money since she cancelled her birthday bash at Pure nightclub.

Lohan was well known for being a frequent attendee at various nightclubs and social events - at times being photographed with nightlife notables such as Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.

Vietnam is having Paris Hilton moment

An online sex video featuring a popular celebrity has riveted the nation for more than a week now, much as Hilton's clip seized the attention of Americans when it hit the Internet several years ago.

But unlike Hilton, the 19-year-old woman at the center of Vietnam's sex scandal won't be able to capitalize on her newfound notoriety.

Hoang Thuy Linh's show has been canceled and the actress has made a tearful farewell on national television.

"I made a mistake, a terrible mistake," said the doe-faced teen, who had cultivated a good-girl image. "I apologize to you, my parents, my teachers and my friends."

Her fall from grace has highlighted the generational fault-lines in Vietnam, a sexually conservative culture within which women have been taught for centuries to remain chaste until marriage and stay true to one man — no matter how many times he cheats on them.

Like everything else in this economically booming country, ideas about sex and gender roles are quickly changing as satellite TV and the Internet bring Western influences to a society cut off by decades of war and economic isolation.

But for many in communist Vietnam, new ideas about free love are much harder to accept than the free market. And unlike men, women who break the old sexual taboos are not easily forgiven.

"Kids today are crazy," said Nguyen Thi Khanh, 49, a Hanoi junior high school teacher. "They often exceed the limits of morality. They have sex and fall in love when they're much too young."

In the old days, Khanh said, a woman who had sex before marriage would be ostracized.

"A good girl must keep herself clean until she is married," Khanh said. "Thuy Linh should be condemned. If I ever see her again on TV, I will turn it off, for sure."

In "Vang Anh's Diaries," Thuy Linh portrayed an earnest high school girl, modern and stylish but determined to uphold the traditional virtues of "cong, dung, ngon" and "hanh," which promote women as tidy, charming, soft-spoken and chaste.

Then the 16-minute video hit the Internet on Oct. 15 featuring Thuy Linh in bed with her former boyfriend, both of them apparently aware that they were on camera.

On Thursday, Hanoi police detained four college students accused of posting the sex clip to the Internet. They could face charges of "spreading depraved cultural items," which carries a sentence of six months to 15 years if convicted.

Police identified the man in the clip as 20-year-old Vu Hoang Viet, who is currently studying overseas. They said a friend copied the film off of Viet's laptop, and passed it along to other friends who then posted it online.

Most of the public's wrath has been directed at Thuy Linh rather than Viet.

"People will forgive him, but not her," said Tran Minh Nguyet of the Vietnam Women's Union, which promotes gender equality. "Vietnamese think it's OK for a boy to have sex at that age, but not for a girl. It's absolutely unfair."

The video has been the talk of Vietnam. Even members of Vietnam's National Assembly were overheard gossiping about it last week at the opening of the new legislative session.

A few lonely voices have sprung up in Thuy Linh's defense. But in most newspapers and on blogs and Web sites, the video has become the target of jokes and condemnation.

VietnamNet, a popular online newspaper, said the episode underscored the "dark side of globalization" and warned that a flood of foreign influences "threaten Vietnam's cultural foundation."

The scandal also has disillusioned many of Thuy Linh's biggest fans.

"She was supposed to set a good example for Vietnamese students nationwide," said Chi, 14, a Hanoi junior high school student who declined to give her full name. "Now this scandal has ruined everything. It's completely destroyed her image."

Hilton's sex tape, made with then-boyfriend Rick Salomon in eerie night-vision green, surfaced just before the start of her reality TV series, "The Simple Life" and helped propel her to superstardom.

But in Vietnam, the video scandal is certain to destroy Thuy Linh's career, said Nguyet of the Vietnam Women's Union.

"Vietnam is changing quickly, but there's no way Thuy Linh will be forgiven," Nguyet said. "That will take another generation."

Michael Lohan: 'Don't Judge Lindsay and Riley'

“Extra” spoke exclusively to Michael Lohan as he promoted the faith-based event “GodMen,” but the interview turned personal when talked turned to Lindsay.

“All I’ll say is that she’s in the right place in her heart and mind and soul,” Michael said. He and Lindsay rekindled their strained relationship once she entered rehab at the Cirque Lodge this summer.

Their new relationship has “been a blessing. I feel blessed by being back in her life. I feel blessed that she’s back on the right path, that she’s found the right place in her life. She’s a blessed kid.”

Michael is also giving his blessing to Lindsay’s new beau, skateboarder Riley Giles.

“Riley is a good kid,” he says. “He comes from a good family. It’s not about what we did in the past. It’s about righting those wrongs.”

He adds, “I don’t think anyone has the right to judge Riley. They [Lindsay & Riley] keep each other in line. They go to meetings with one another.”

In regard to his relationship with ex-wife Dina, he added, “I wish the best for Dina.”

Britney Spears sets parenting program in motion

Britney Spears began her first Parenting Without Conflict session at The Beverly Hills Hotel on Oct 24, a source close to the singer has revealed.

According to reports, Spears' former husband, Kevin Federline, was also present at the hotel, as the program strongly urges that both parents take the course together, but it is not mandatory.

"She's not nervous, she's actually looking forward to it," People quoted the source, as saying.

The six week program teaches cooperative parenting and communication skills, and is one of several requirements that L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ordered Britney to complete.

"Instead of saying 'You're always bringing the kids home late because you're an insensitive jerk.' We teach parents instead to say 'When you bring the kids home late, I feel like you're not valuing my time, and I feel hurt or angry as a result,'" Craig Ogulnick, a supervisor for the program, said.

Both Kevin and Britney are required in court on Oct 26 for a progress review, and must have completed at least three joint co-parenting counseling sessions together, the source said.

Besides, the 'Toxic' singer is also required to complete three individual counseling sessions "to address parenting issues."

Currently Federline retains physical custody of sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.

Britney Spears to Plead 'Not Guilty'

Britney Spears is pleading innocent to her latest motoring misdemeanor charge--driving without a valid license.

The troubled pop star's attorney, J. Michael Flanagan, told TMZ.com he will plead not guilty on behalf of the 25-year-old when he enters the courtroom on Thursday.

Spears, who will not be present in court, has been booked with one count of hit-and-run causing property damage, and one count of driving without a valid California license. Both charges are misdemeanors, each carrying a maximum of six months in jail.

The charges stem from an incident on Aug. 6 in Los Angeles, where Spears allegedly smashed into a parked car in a private parking lot in the San Fernando Valley. The singer reached a settlement agreement with the woman whose car she hit, and it is thought that the hit-and-run charge is likely to be dropped.

Last week, Alex - who worked as a model in his native Sweden and was planning to train as a doctor - gushed about how Paris had changed his life.

Paris Hilton wants to shed her party-girl image

Meet Paris Hilton, grown-up. The 26-year-old socialite has vowed to change her party-girl image after serving a 23-day jail sentence in June for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

"There are a lot of bad people in L.A. Before, my life was about having fun, going to parties - it was a fantasy," she tells Newsweek magazine in its Oct. 22 issue, now on newsstands. "But when I had time to reflect, I felt empty inside. I want to leave a mark on the world."

Hilton says she is now committed to using her celebrity status for the greater good. Next month, she plans to pack her bags for Rwanda to bring attention to the African country.

"I'm scared, yeah. I've heard it's really dangerous," she says. "I've never been on a trip like this before."

Hilton, accompanied by a children's charity called Playing for Good, will visit schools and health-care clinics as part of a five-day charity mission. The trip will be filmed - not surprising, given Hilton's love of the camera.

"I love having everything documented," says Hilton, who hopes to turn the footage into a film. "It shows people what everyday life is like for me, how hard I work. There are a lot of misconceptions about me."

Hilton says her dating life isn't as wild as the tabloids make it out to be.

"I've been linked to so many guys, but there's nothing romantic going on at all," she says. "I get along better with guys than girls. I trust them more. They don't get all girly and mean. Girls have drama."

Lindsay Lohan Love Rival Reveals All About Staircase-Sex Rehab Romp

Lindsay Lohan had sex with her new boyfriend Riley Giles in the stairwell after meeting in rehab, according to the snowboarder's jilted fiancée.

Bree Tierney claims the Mean Girls star has ruined her life by stealing Giles from her, while the pair were patients at the Cirque lodge rehab center in Utah, where Lohan spent much of the summer tackling substance abuse issues.

Lohan and Giles have since been spotted out and about in Los Angeles--and Tierney is furious with both of them.

She tells Star magazine, "Lindsay Lohan stole my fiancée and wrecked my life. I loved Riley and Lindsay stole him from me.

"I've stuck by Riley through the good and the bad. Even after a car accident in Las Vegas, when Riley was arrested and I was left at the scene. That was his third or fourth DUI. We knew then he had to get help.

"So he went into rehab, and I waited for him. We lived together for three years and planned on being together.

"But then he confirmed that he had sex with Lindsay in one of the stairwells at Cirque--that was it, we were done."

And Tierney insists she won't be taking her ex back when he and Lohan inevitably split.

She adds, "There's no way they are going to last. He's just looking for publicity. He's got Lindsay to get attention for his so-called snowboarding career. He's using her, and she's using him--nice, huh?

"But I should thank Lindsay. She ruined my life but also opened my eyes. She actually did my a favor. Riley and Lindsay are perfect for each other."

Britney Spears appears to hit paparazzo

Hours after losing child-visitation rights Thursday, the troubled pop star apparently ran over a photographer's foot with her car.

According to celebrity Web site Hollywood.TV, Spears was pulling out of a Beverly Hills medical building around 5 p.m. when the incident occurred.

Messages left late Thursday with Spears' attorney were not immediately returned. A police dispatcher in Beverly Hills said late Thursday no police report had been filed.

Video on the Web site is titled "The Unfortunate Foot Incident," but doesn't show the tire of Spears' car rolling over the cameraman's foot.

The video shows Spears beginning to pull out of a parking garage when her car is surrounded by more than a dozen photographers. The car comes to a stop.

Spears honks and the car lurches forward a few feet. Shouting is heard, and the camera jerks around as fellow photographers apparently help a man to his feet.

Spears drives off. Seconds later, the video shows what appears to be a tire mark on the unidentified paparazzo's sock. The man, wearing sandals with white socks, doesn't respond to questions from the cameraman and walks off without any apparent problems.

Earlier Thursday, Spears learned she was barred from visiting her young sons, who are in the custody of ex-husband Kevin Federline, until she complies with a court order, Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled.

The order, dated Wednesday, does not spell out what directives Spears defied. A hearing in the matter was scheduled for Oct. 26.

Spears' apparent foot bender isn't the first time she's had trouble behind the wheel. She faces hit and run charges and driving without a valid license from an Aug. 6 wreck.

In that crash, paparazzi filmed Spears steering her car into another vehicle as she tried to turn into a spot in a Studio City parking lot. The video showed her walking away after assessing the damage to her own car.

Heiress Paris hires driver to avoid more DUIs

It seems that Paris Hilton has learnt a lesson from her past DUI arrest, for the heiress hired a driver after downing bottles of alcohol in a recent party.

Hilton was back to partying at the Hollywood hot spot Les Deux at 12:30 a.m. on Oct 17.

"She was chain smoking all night and mixing her own vodka drinks with the bottles on her table," Usmagazine.com quoted an onlooker, as saying.

A witness has revealed that the heiress began table dancing by 12:45 a.m. and later, when the Police tune "Message In A Bottle" began playing, she started jumping around.

"Paris literally kept jumping up and down. She was doing shots that a cocktail waitress kept bringing around," the witness said.

The onlooker also said that when Hilton's on-and-off beau Stavros Niarchos arrived at the spot, she started cuddling him.

"She immediately hopped down from where she was sitting and hugged and kissed him" the onlooker said.

When the lights came on at 1:45 a.m., Hilton told pals that she won't drive and therefore she hired a driver.

LIndsay Lohan's Boyfriend Was Engaged

Lindsay Lohan stole her new boyfriend, snowboarder Riley Giles, from his fiancée--according to the girl's mother.

The 21-year-old actress confirmed reports she is dating the California-based X-Games star earlier this month, after leaving the Cirque Clinic rehab facility in Utah.

But Giles was already engaged to Utah resident Bree Tierney--and news of his relationship with the Mean Girls star has left her heartbroken.

Tierney's mother, Tess, says, "Riley just stopped calling Bree and never told her about Lindsay.

"She found out by seeing photos. It destroyed her.

Britney Spears' jail date

Britney Spears yesterday went to a Los Angeles jail to be booked on a hit-and-run charge.

The singer, 25, was photographed and fingerprinted after hitting a parked car in August.

Britney, dressed in a black mini-skirt and leather jacket, had been ordered to report before October 25 when she is due to appear in court.

It relates to an incident when her black Mercedes convertible hit another car in a car park.

She was then photographed looking at the damage before walking off into a pharmacy.

The owner of the other car, nurse Kim Robard-Rifkin, filed a police report three days later.

The singer, who was not wearing a seatbelt and holding her Yorkie puppy London, was later charged with a hit-and-run offence and also driving without a Californian drivers' licence.

Both charges carry up to six months in jail. Later Britney said the police were "really nice".

Paris Hilton gives 'shy' beau the boot

Paris Hilton has reportedly called it quits with rumoured beau Swedish tourist Alex Vaggo because he is 'too shy'.

Hilton gave him the boot after Vaggo told her how he couldn't help getting enamoured by her.

A source said that the 26-year-old liked his looks, but he was too boring for her.

"She loved his good looks, but she gets bored very quickly, and he was just too shy and quiet for her. She likes bad boys,' the Sun quoted the source, as saying.

"I'm single. I'm way too busy for a boyfriend," she said

Britney, Lindsay have to deal with their problems themselves: Rihanna

Pop star Rihanna has held troubled stars Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan responsible for their current dilemmas.

The 'Umbrella' hitmaker told 'Cosmopolitan' that the stars were not tackling their personal problems well.

She also urged that no one could help the duo till they solved their problems by themselves.

"There's nothing I can say that'll change their minds about their lifestyles," Contactmusic quoted her, as telling.

"They have to make the change for themselves and I don't know if they want it bad enough," she said.

The R and B singer is currently getting set for the MTV Europe music awards where she is up for three gongs.

The 'Umbrella' star has been nominated for the 'Ultimate Urban', 'Most Addictive Track' and 'Solo Artist' prizes at the 2007 show, which is to be held in Germany in November.

Britney Spears booked in L.A. on driving charges

Britney Spears turned herself into a Los Angeles police station on Monday to be photographed and fingerprinted in connection with two minor traffic offenses.

The 26-year-old gum-chewing pop star, dressed in black miniskirt and leather jacket, spent about 30 minutes being processed after arriving at the station in the Los Angeles suburb of Van Nuys about 9 p.m. (midnight EDT).

The booking related to an August 6 incident when her car scuffed another car in a parking lot as Spears was being trailed by dozens of paparazzi. As they clicked away, she got out of the car, surveyed the damage and walked into an adjacent building.

As a result, she was later charged with one misdemeanor count each of hit-and-run and driving without a California drivers' license. She is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges October 25 in Van Nuys Superior Court.

Monday's booking was an oddly low-key affair for Spears, who can rarely go anywhere without being pursued by the paparazzi. As a handful of reporters looked on, she strode through the front entrance with a male companion after turning down a police offer to use a back entrance.

When she emerged, she told reporters that the police officers were "really nice." She then got into the front passenger seat of her companion's Mercedes and was driven off.

Lindsay desperate for parents to stop fighting

Actress Lindsay Lohan desperately wants her parents to end their ongoing public feuding.

Lindsay's parents Dina and Michael are presently involved in a bitter divorce battle.

However, the 'Mean Girls' star is expecting that her parents will patch up for the sake of her younger siblings Michael Jr, Dakota and Aliana.

"It saddens me. I wish it would stop. It hurts when two people you love argue with one another. I don't think any child wants to see their parents argue or see their family fall apart," Contactmusic quoted Lohan, as saying.

"Unfortunately it happens, and when it does they should do it with as little effect on their children as possible," she added.

Lindsay Lohan tells magazine: 'I hit rock bottom'

US actress Lindsay Lohan admitted in an interview with a celebrity weekly that she had reached the lowest point in her career, after her July arrest for drunk driving and cocaine possession.

"I hit rock bottom," Lohan, 21, told OK!. Excerpts of the interview were released Tuesday, ahead of the magazine's publication on Thursday.

Lohan, who starred in "The Last Show," "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday," was arrested July 24 in Santa Monica, California, for drunk driving and possession of cocaine.

She pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to one day in jail, 10 hours of community work, and three years probation.

In early August Lohan checked into the exclusive Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in the state of Utah for a two-month detoxification program.

"It was a sobering experience," Lohan told the magazine in her first interview since leaving the center.

"It made me look at myself and all the people, places and things in my life in a different way."

Entertainment Weekly in August quoted anonymous Hollywood film directors as saying the incident had, in effect, "killed" Lohan's movie career -- but the starlet said she would be going back to Los Angeles to shoot a movie titled "Dare to Love Me."

"I'm here to stay," she said. "My talent is a gift and I'm going to use it."

"But I plan on returning to Utah so I can stay focused and avoid other distractions," she said.

Alcohol sales are banned in Utah, an overwhelmingly Mormon state.

"Temptation is always there, but now I'll avoid it the right way," she said.

Hilton wants to meet Sutherland in jail

Paris Hilton wants to meet with Kiefer Sutherland during his stint in jail, say reports.

The US socialite and ex-con has reportedly claimed that she can make the 24 actor's time behind bars more enjoyable.

A source told the Daily Star: "Paris feels she can make this whole experience easier on Kiefer.

"It was the most life-changing experience for her when she was jailed, but also so hard. She feels she’s well informed about the celeb incarceration thing.

Hilton is also apparently keen to try to make a TV show from the experience. The source added: "The pressure is so much more when you’re famous, so she’s said she’ll be there. She’d like to record a diary – perhaps even 24 style."

Sutherland was sentenced to 48 days in jail yesterday for driving under the influence.

Paris Hilton sends Britney Spears bouquet of chocolate roses

Paris Hilton sent Britney Spears a bouquet of chocolate roses to cheer her up.

The hotel heiress reportedly treated the 'Toxic' singer to a dozen edible pink flowers to console her friend after she lost custody of sons, two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James last week.

Paris said, "I love Britney and I wish her all the best."

The 26-year-old socialite ordered the bouquet from gourmet confectionary shop The Sweet Garden last Thursday.

The chocolate store's website describes the flowers as "an unforgettable gift," adding, "The elegant rose bouquet of delectable chocolate flowers makes for a beautiful gift, perfect for any occasion."

'The Simple Life' star supported the mother-of-two through her split from Kevin Federline in November by taking her out partying in Los Angeles to forget her problems.

Paris said last year, "I love her. She is the sweetest girl I know. She's so down-to-earth. I just want her to smile and be happy."

Paris' publicist Elliot Mintz insisted the pair had become so close they were like "sisters."

Mintz said, "What I've observed is that we have two extraordinarily powerful women who generate a tremendous amount of attention, money, and adulation and they're tired of other people trying to ride on their coat tails. Paris and Britney have become like sisters."

Report: Lindsay Lohan leaves rehab

Lindsay Lohan has checked out of a drug and alcohol treatment program in Utah that she entered in August, according to People magazine.

Lohan, 21, left the Cirque Lodge treatment center on Friday afternoon, the magazine reported on its Web site, citing statements from her parents.

"I'm proud of her. She's moving ahead with her life," her mother, Dina, told People Friday. "Things were getting out of control. She took action. She took responsibility. She really needed to heal."

The exclusive center, which promises anonymity to clients, refused Saturday to confirm or deny the report. Calls to Lohan's publicist and attorney were not immediately returned.

Lohan's visit to Cirque Lodge was her third trip to rehab since January, a frenetic year in which she wrecked a Mercedes-Benz, released the box-office flop "I Know Who Killed Me" and was arrested more than once.

Lohan has been prominently in the public eye since becoming a star at 11 in the Disney film "The Parent Trap." She's also appeared in "Mean Girls," "Freaky Friday," "Herbie Fully Loaded" and numerous other films. In recent years, however, she's become better known for nonstop appearances on the Hollywood nightclub scene.

"Now that she is going out into the world, I can only hope for the best," her father, Michael Lohan, told People.

In May, Lohan was arrested after crashing her Mercedes-Benz into a tree in Beverly Hills. She was arrested again in July after the mother of Lohan's former personal assistant called 911 to report that her car was being chased by an SUV. The chase ended in Santa Monica, where police arrested Lohan for being behind the wheel.

In both cases, Lohan was found in possession of small amounts of cocaine.

In August, she reached a plea deal on misdemeanor drunken driving and cocaine charges stemming from the arrests. The deal called for her to enter treatment, spend a day in jail and perform community service.

"It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs," Lohan said in a statement released by her publicist last August.

Pammy marries Paris Hilton's sex tape partner Rick Salomon

Actress Pamela Anderson has wed Paris Hilton's sex tape partner Rick Salomon, just days after denying that she is planning to tie the knot again.

Anderson and Salomon, who have been friends for over 15 years, exchanged vows on Oct 6 at the Mirage hotel in Las Vegas in front of a small gathering that included Tobey Maguire, Lukas Haas and magician Hans Klok.

The wedding took place in between two magic shows and the 'Baywatch' beauty immediately got back to work and broke the news on the show.

"Hello, I just got married...I did, I'm distracted. It's a big day. A big day at the office," People magazine quoted her, as saying.

Last week, reports of the mum of two planning to walking down the aisle for the third time were rife after she and Salmon applied for a marriage license.

A source revealed that that the actress and Salomon are 'head over heels in love'.

"They are head over heels in love. They are really close. They have a relationship already and they have the license,' the source said.

"Rick is always with her, He's backstage when she does her show all the time,' another source added.

Britney Spears loses bid to regain custody of kids

Britney Spears lost a bid to regain custody of her two young sons on Wednesday as a judge ordered the children to stay in the sole care of her ex-husband but granted the troubled pop star monitored-visitation rights.

Adding to the media frenzy surrounding the high-profile custody fight, television therapist Dr. Phil McGraw said through a spokesman "he would be prepared to offer whatever help he could provide" to the couple.

But the spokesman, Louis DiCenzo, declined to say whether McGraw had reached out directly to Spears or her representatives as her legal troubles continued to mount.

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon rejected Spears request to lift a court order from Monday giving former spouse Kevin Federline sole custody of their sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, whose care the couple previously shared.

Two weeks ago, Gordon ordered Spears to undergo random drug testing and hire a parenting coach after finding evidence of her "habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol."

Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told reporters after the three-hour, closed-door hearing on Wednesday that the judge granted Spears visitation subject to certain conditions.

He did not elaborate. But court spokesman Allan Parachini said Spears' visitation had to be monitored and would likely take place every other day.

Gordon set another hearing for October 26 to review the situation and possibly revise his order. Both Federline and Spears are required to attend.

Federline, wearing sunglasses over an eye patch, attended Wednesday's hearing, slipping into and out of the courthouse without speaking to throngs of reporters gathered outside. Spears was not present, and her lawyer declined comment.

Spears' custody battle caps a tumultuous year in the singer's personal life as she struggles to rejuvenate her recording career.

Since her split from Federline last November, Spears has drawn a steady stream of headlines for erratic behavior that has included club-hopping without panties, shaving her head bald, raging at a car with an umbrella and checking into and out of rehab.

Last month, her highly anticipated comeback appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards was widely panned as an embarrassing flop, though her new single, "Gimme More," has climbed to the top of the digital download charts.

Spears, 25, and Federline, 29, divorced in July after nearly three years of marriage, and before this week had shared 50/50 custody of their children. But Kaplan told reporters in August that Federline was seeking greater control of his sons to keep them "isolated from risks."

Adding to her legal woes, she was charged days later with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a valid license after police said she smashed into another car in a parking lot.

Spears' lawyer, Sorrell Trope, was quoted by People magazine this week as saying the judge revoked the singer's custody based in part on Federline's claims that she had failed to comply with requirements regarding drug and alcohol tests.

'Ugly Betty' Star Urges Spears and Lohan to 'Get a Job'

Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan would be in less trouble if they spent more time working, according to Ugly Betty star America Ferrera.

The Emmy-winning actress admits the young stars' party-loving antics baffle her because she's always too tired to go clubbing, and she thinks Spears and Lohan would benefit from working harder and socializing less.

Ferrera says, "My advice to anyone who gets into too much trouble is, 'Get a job!'

"I can't get into trouble because I'm working all the time... I'm too busy working and focusing on what I'm doing to be out partying."

Reese Witherspoon Slams Spears, Hilton and Lohan for Negative Image

Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon has branded Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton bad role models for women.

The Walk the Line actress is angry that the "sad and very strange" behavior of the hellraising trio undoes the work of women from previous generations who fought against a male-dominated society.

She says, "We don't need to keep reading about female celebrities who are out there posing all the time and craving attention and exploiting the sex-symbol stereotype.

"My mother and grandmother fought incredibly hard against a male establishment to become high achievers in their lives, and I think women should be able to be sexy and smart and successful--without being silly and aimless."

Britney Spears gets driver's license

Britney Spears has received a California driver's license to comply with a court order in a child custody dispute with former husband Kevin Federline.

The DMV reports the temporary driver's license was issued late yesterday in Santa Monica. Mike Marando, deputy director of communications for the California Department of Motor Vehicles, says Spears should receive her license by mail within the next month.

Marando says the 25-year-old pop star has completed her requirements for a driver's license.

On Monday, a judge ordered Spears to temporarily surrender custody of the couple's young sons to Federline. Spears failed to produce a California driver's license.

A hearing is set for this afternoon for more custody proceedings between Spears and Federline.

Pamela Anderson set to marry Paris Hilton's ex

They have appeared in the two most infamous home videos of all time. And now it appears Pamela Anderson is planning to marry the man who made Paris Hilton an internet sensation.

The former Baywatch star and Rick Salomon – Paris Hilton's former boyfriend who made and distributed the infamous One Night In Paris explicit video – are planning to get married. They have applied for – and were granted – a marriage licence in Las Vegas on the weekend.

Anderson – who has been performing with magician Hans Klok at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino – and Salomon, 38, have been inseparable lately.

A source said: "Rick is always with her. He's backstage when she does her show all the time."

The pair, who headed back to Los Angeles Saturday night, have been staying at Anderson's Malibu beach house. The former Baywatch star, 40, had previously revealed on a US chat show that she was engaged but did not say who her other half was, except that he was a poker player, which is one of Salomon's pursuits.

Twice-married Salomon, 39, dated Hilton in a relationship immortalised in an infamous "night-vision" explicit home movie that also gained wide Internet exposure before it was distributed as a porn film titled "One Night in Paris."

Salomon was briefly married in 2002 to actress Shannen Doherty of the TV hit "Beverly Hills, 90210," but their union was annulled. He has two daughters with first wife Elizabeth Daily. It would be the third marriage for Anderson, who gained international stardom playing lifeguard C.J. Parker on the TV show "Baywatch."

Anderson and her first husband, Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, with whom she appeared in a widely circulated explicit video, divorced in 1998 after three years of marriage and two children.

She and her second husband, Kid Rock, divorced last year after four months of marriage. The wedding plans were revealed as Anderson blasted ex-husband Rock over comments he had been left alone to look after her two children, Brandon, 11, and nine-year-old Dylan.

On her website, she said: 'Everyone knows I'm a great mom. He's bitter.

'It's sad to see. I don't want to battle with him. But I'd hate to point out habits I had a hard time with. They are personal to him and that's why we are not together. These are desperate attempts. I've moved on.'

Lindsay Lohan to Temporarily Leave Rehab with Her Father

Lindsay Lohan will be spending five days of "quality time" with her father, Michael, next week--in a secret location away from her Utah rehabilitation clinic, according to reports.

The Mean Girls actress, 21, checked into the Cirque Lodge in Utah in early August to seek counseling following two drunk-driving charges earlier this year.

Her mother, Dina, recently insisted the star's third stint in rehab will not be coming to an end any time soon, despite reports to the contrary, and now ex-convict Michael says he will be whisking Lindsay away as part of the rehab center’s outpatient therapy program.

He tells the New York Daily News, "I'm looking forward to spending the next week with her. We've been in constant phone contact. She's in a great, great place now. I've never heard her so honest, contrite and focused.

"Lindsay is weeding out all the bad. She's taking a step back and reevaluating her life. What she tells--her honesty and openness--has brought me to tears. It's beyond words how proud I am of her."

And Michael--who has become an ordained minister since being released from jail in March--hopes his visit will encourage Lindsay to kick her drug and alcohol addictions completely, because of his own experiences with illegal substances.

A source says, "They believe Michael's the best person for Lindsay to be with now.

"Not only is he her dad--someone with her best interests at heart--but he's also someone who successfully turned his own life around after battling substance abuse."

Britney Spears now a work of art

Fallen pop princess Britney Spears has been called many things this year as she has bounced in and out of rehab, attacked paparazzi with an umbrella and shaken her stuff on MTV's Video Music Awards.

No doubt, Spears has been a real piece of work. Now, she is more than 50 pieces of art at a Hollywood gallery.

Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbatos -- makers of the documentary "The Eyes of Tammy Faye" about former televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker Messner as well as other films exploring fame -- gathered paintings, sculpture and other work for "Just Britney," which opened at their gallery on Friday.

"We reached out to a number of artists and found Britney is such a polarizing character these days," said Steven Corfe, a co-curator of the show with Thairin Smothers.

"People absolutely adored her and wanted to celebrate her bubblegum, pop princess years. Or, they thought she was an irresponsible mother or wanted to play up the drug side of things," Corfe added. "The show reflects that whole spectrum."

Pieces range from a portrait of the 25-year-old singer, "Gum Blond XLVIII" by Jason Kronenwald, made of chewed bubble gum, to the 6-foot by 10-foot (1.8 by 3.0-metre) "Snake Charmer" by Jamie Boling, based on a paparazzi photo of Britney exiting a car with her skirt hiked up and no panties on.

Spears rose to fame as a child star on the Disney Channel and a member of the New Mickey Mouse Club. As a teenager, she released chart-topping pop tunes like "Baby One More Time" and "Oops!...I Did It Again."

But as a young adult, Spears has been through two marriages and is in a custody battle over the two children she had with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

She has dealt with substance abuse, fired her staff, shaved her head and shed clothes for an ocean dip in front of paparazzi. Her performance of a new song, "Gimme More," while dressed as a stripper at the MTV awards, earned harsh criticism.

"She personifies our obsession with celebrity culture, and it's an obsession that won't die down no matter how far she goes off the rail," Corfe said. "We love to put people up on a pillar and we love even more to shoot them down."

"Just Britney" runs through early October at Bailey's and Barbatos' World of Wonder art gallery in Hollywood.
